Buprenorphine Detox and Treatment
Pat Moore Foundation's drug & alcohol detox and alcohol & drug addiction treatment programs are licensed and certified by The State of California. We offer primary residential treatment facility with individual homes on a unique co-ed campus with gender specific treatment.
Opioid Dependence Treatment
Opioids are drugs that are either derived from opiates (drugs created directly from opium, such as morphine or codeine) or are chemically related to opiates or opium. Examples of opioids include some prescription painkillers (such as oxycodone/oxycontin,hydrocodone, buprenorphine, methadone, and heroin).
Suboxone & PAWS Treatment
One of the most promising treatment regimens within our industry is the use of Suboxone for opioid dependence. The primary ingredient in Suboxone is buprenorphine, which is an opioid partial agonist, meaning that since it is an opioid it can produce typical opioid agonist effects and side effects such as euphoria and respiratory depression. The maximum effects, however, are less than that of full agonists like heroin and methadone. At low doses buprenorphine produces sufficient agonist effects to enable an individual with an opiate addiction to discontinue the misuse of opioids without experiencing withdrawal symptoms. Also added to Suboxone is naloxone. Naloxone prevents or physically discourages addicts from dissolving the tablet or film and injecting it.
Drug Detox
During drug detox, managing the physical symptoms of withdrawal associated with the discontinuation of drugs is an important aspect of the detox process. While detoxification exclusively is rarely sufficient in terms of assisting the addicts in achieving long-term abstinence, we also recommend treatment of up to 30 days (minimum) in conjunction with detox.
Alcohol Detox
For the alcoholic, alcohol withdrawl creates a sense of anxiousness and uneasiness. As for the psychological aspect of the addiction, even those who consume moderate amounts of alcohol may experience withdrawal. This form of addiction refers to a mental desire for alcohol that would create a sense of well being.
